11th Annual Shipyard Cup

The Shipyard Cup hosts an impressive collection of sailing yachts. The annual race is open to entrants 70 feet and above, with the fleet typically ranging from 90 to over 150 feet. The relaxed Maine style event features a lobster bake on Friday evening at The Shipyard in East Boothbay and post race cocktail parties at Hodgdon Marina in Boothbay Harbor. During the 11th annual Shipyard Cup, Scheherazade was able to defend its title as overall winner by crossing the finish line first in two of the three races held off Boothbay Harbor on August 9 -11. One of the finest Superyacht sailing vessels in the world, the 154-foot Ketch was built by Hodgdon Yachts in East Boothbay and launched in 2003. Designed by local and world renowned designer Bruce King with a Winch Designs interior, Scheherazade is an exquisite example of Hodgdon’s legendary craftsmanship.
